Mooretown Courtright

Welcome to Mooretown-Courtright Public School!

We believe that our school provides personal, intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth opportunities to all of our students, through the implementation of TRIBES, the philosophy of Ron Morrish, and character education. It is our aim to have each learner achieve the following expectations: [more]

Basketball Teams

Those boys and girls in grades six, seven and eight who wish to be considered for membership in our basketball teams must meet all of the requirements as set out on page thirty of the agenda-planner. Students must also be appropriately attired during practices and games. Remember that those teachers who choose to donate their time as coaches are doing so as volunteers and be thankful. Parents of students in grade six must understand that their children will be playing against older students who are likely larger and more skilled.

Kindergarten Registration

This year, Kindergarten Registration will take place from 13 through 17 February. If Mrs Baker has not contacted you already to set an appointment but you have a child ready for Kindergarten, please call her as soon as possible. If, however, you do not live within our school's boundaries, then you must, according to our Board's policy, first register at the school within the boundaries of which you do live, and then request to be placed on a waiting list at M-C. Further details can be found on the Board's home page at www.lkdsb.net.

St Valentine's Day

St Valentine's Day will be a busy day for our students. Not only will it be red/white/pink day, with students being encouraged to dress "entirely" in those colours, but there will also be our traditional divisionally-based activities for our students. Our primary students will enjoy a movie, our junior students will enjoy board games, and our intermediate students (with the grades sixes also invited) will enjoy a dance. These special activities will take place during the third block of the day. Many thanks are offered to Ms Lung and the hard-working members of Students' Council for organising this special day!
